Pharmacy Services
The Department of Pharmacy Services is responsible for procuring, storing, preparing, and distributing all medications for patients admitted to the hospital. Our Pharmacy department is supported by remote pharmacists and a registered pharmacy technician. Together, they support all aspects of medication management for inpatients. Remote pharmacists provide pharmaceutical care to inpatients, ensure they are receiving the most appropriate treatment, and provide recommendations to health care members within the circle of care. Registered pharmacy technicians focus on providing a safe, efficient, effective drug distribution service, by ensuring medications are prepared and dispensed appropriately for all inpatients.
In the operation of the hospital, the Inpatient Hospital Pharmacy Department is responsible for:
- Inventory control
- Ward stocking
- Medication Reconciliation
- Unit dose packaging of medications
- Providing drug information and education
- Monitoring for drug interactions and potential medication related problems
