Hospital Auxiliary Brings Ultrasound Campaign Higher, Helps Bignucolo Residence
The Chapleau General Hospital Auxiliary has donated $5,000 to bring the total amount raised in the local campaign for better ultrasounds above $90,000. The Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer organization that fundraises for local health care needs, raised the funds in the community bringing the nine month total of the Ultrasound Campaign to $94,760.
Since December 2015 the Chapleau General Hospital Foundation has been on a mission to raise the $100,000 needed to have better ultrasounds in the Chapleau area. The new ultrasound machine will provide higher quality images, has a deeper range, and is ergonomically designed. It is also more energy efficient than previous ultrasound models.
The Hospital Auxiliary also used their remaining funds to fill a need at the Bignucolo Residence. The $3,834 donation will be allocated towards improving the lives of residents of the long-term care facility. This will undoubtedly enhance progress that has been made recently through the new vital signs machine and the installation of new patient lifts. As specific items are purchased, they will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
The Chapleau General Hospital Foundation is thankful for the Auxiliary's partnership on this campaign. The Auxiliary has donated countless hours towards fundraising and has made many valuable contributions to Services de santé de Chapleau Health Services throughout the years.
Organizations, individuals, businesses, and communities have all been quick to participate in this initiative. The campaign will end once the remaining $18,734 is raised. For more information on the Ultrasound Campaign and ways to get involved follow us on Facebook, or call 705-864-3053.
